Another Katura Hero.
J + A were referred to Katura by a mutual friend in Atlanta. We had a solid starting point that provided us with three design parameters:
- The bride had inherited a round brilliant over 2 carats.
- The bride loved yellow gold.
- The bride also loved oval shaped diamonds.
Our design adventure began with a contemporary Toi et Moi ring which would have an oval diamond set at a jaunty angle against the round. But we had not yet seen the round brilliant diamond. It had been in a safe deposit box and once that was retrieved, the quiet beauty -the cut, the clarity, and subtle warmth- of that diamond demanded we make it the center of attention. So back to the drawing board...
At Katura, we believe it is the perogative of a woman to change her mind.
We decided on 1 carat oval diamonds as side stones. Stunning in their own right, they complemented the center stone and did not detract from it. The stones blended beautifully.
We also design with the future years of daily wear in mind. The prongs are not just graceful, but strategic. The ovals are secured from all directions and the center stone has six prongs. The ring is visually balanced and constructed in 18KY.
Even though J + A saw computer generated sketches every step of the way, and knew exactly what her ring would look like from every angle, they they weren't quite prepared for the stunning sparkle that Katura delivered. It's breathtaking how they all play together so well.
The ring has a significant, bold diamond look... simultaneously sophisticated and classical. Best of all, they couldn't be happier. And that makes us happy.
