This ring was a total surprise and made the holidays unforgettable.
Together with M., the groom-to-be, we parsed a few wildly different images that S. had pulled together. There were common denominators: delicate, gracious, and understated. Probably all excellent descriptions of S. There was one request: yellow gold.
During the design process, we settled on the quiet elegance of an emerald cut diamond fairly quickly. Yet we wanted something more, something different and unique, while keeping the design very classical.
Enter the Cadillac Cut.
It's exactly what you're thinking... a diamond in the shape of the Cadillac logo you've seen on the grill of a car. (I was recently in Detroit and was constantly reminded of this whenever I looked in the rear view mirror!) It's a shape that perfectly complements emerald cuts, Asschers, or square radiants. The Cadillac is fully faceted, yet a subtle way to frame the center stone.
The first image is the CAD/CAM to give M. an exact representation of what would arrive just two weeks later. This digital preview shows how the side stones relate perfectly to the stunning center stone. The ring itself has a beautiful gallery with curvy details and weighty enough to endure for many years.
Here's wishing everyone a very engaging New Year!
