Katura 1999 is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
October Skies Benediction LLC, doing business as Katura 1999 ("Katura," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to ensuring that our website, mobile applications, and all digital properties are accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to our products, services, and information regardless of ability.
This commitment extends to compliance with applicable accessibility laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the European Accessibility Act (EAA), the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and the United Kingdom's Equality Act 2010. We view digital accessibility not merely as a legal obligation but as a core value of our business.
Our Pledge: We invest in ongoing accessibility improvements, engage third-party auditors, train our development and content teams on best practices, and maintain a dedicated channel for accessibility feedback and accommodation requests.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). WCAG 2.2 is the most current internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and is referenced by accessibility laws worldwide.
Level AA conformance means our website meets or exceeds 50+ success criteria designed to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Conformance Definition: "Conformance" means that the content meets the requirements of the standard. We strive for full conformance, though we acknowledge some areas may be partially conformant as we continually improve. We document known limitations transparently in this statement.
We strive to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means our website should be:
Perceivable
Information and user interface components are presented in ways users can perceive β including text alternatives for images, captions, and adaptable layouts.
Operable
All interface components and navigation are operable via keyboard, touch, voice, and other input methods β with sufficient time and seizure-safe design.
Understandable
Information and operation are understandable β including readable text, predictable navigation, and helpful input assistance for forms.
Robust
Content is robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including current and future assistive technologies.
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Visible focus indicators are provided throughout. Tab order follows a logical reading sequence.
Screen Reader Support
Semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA roles, labels, and live regions ensure screen readers can accurately convey page structure and dynamic content updates.
Visual Accessibility
Color contrast meets WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for large text and UI components). The site is fully usable without color as the sole means of conveying information.
Alternative Text & Media
All meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. Product images include detailed descriptions of jewelry characteristics.
Responsive & Scalable
Content reflows gracefully at up to 400% zoom without loss of information or functionality. No horizontal scrolling is required at standard zoom levels.
Forms & Error Handling
All form fields have associated labels. Error messages are descriptive and programmatically linked to the relevant fields. Required fields are clearly indicated.
Touch & Mobile
Touch targets meet minimum size requirements (44Γ44 CSS pixels). Gestures have alternatives. Orientation is not locked.
Cognitive Accessibility
Consistent navigation patterns, clear headings, plain language, and predictable page behavior reduce cognitive load and support users with learning disabilities.
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
Our website has been tested with and is designed to be compatible with:
We recommend using the latest versions of browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) alongside these assistive technologies for the best experience. If you encounter compatibility issues with a specific technology, please contact us.
We employ a multi-layered approach to accessibility testing to ensure thorough coverage and compliance:
Audit Schedule: Full WCAG 2.2 AA audit conducted annually. Automated scans run on every code deployment. Last full audit: Q1 2026. Next scheduled audit: Q1 2027.
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible:
Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible. We document these transparently and are actively working to remediate them:
Legacy PDF Documents
Some older PDF documents (product certifications, invoices prior to 2025) may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are converting these to accessible HTML and tagged PDF formats.
Third-Party Embedded Content
Some embedded content from third-party providers (payment forms via Stripe, map widgets) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We work with our vendors to improve these.
High-Resolution Product Imagery
Some product zoom features may not be fully operable via keyboard. Alternative high-resolution views are accessible through product detail descriptions.
Dynamic Content Updates
Some real-time content updates (cart count, notification badges) may not always be announced promptly to screen readers. We are implementing additional ARIA live regions.
We are actively working to improve these areas.
When accessibility issues are identified β whether through our own testing, user feedback, or third-party audits β we follow a structured remediation process:
1. Acknowledgment
We acknowledge receipt of the report and provide a case reference number.
2. Assessment
Our team evaluates the issue against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria and assigns a severity level (Critical, Major, Minor).
3. Remediation
We develop and deploy a fix according to the severity-driven timeline.
4. Verification
The fix is verified through automated and manual testing, and we notify the reporter of the resolution.
5. Interim Accommodation
While a fix is in progress, we provide an alternative means of access (e.g., phone support, email, manual order processing).
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us.
We take accessibility feedback seriously and have established a formal process for receiving and addressing concerns:

Please include: (1) the URL of the page, (2) a description of the issue, (3) the assistive technology or browser you were using, and (4) your preferred method of contact. We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.

We will escalate it to our Accessibility Coordinator and provide a written response within 15 business days. You also have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (ADA), the FCC (Section 508), or your local civil rights enforcement agency.
