re: Imagined is the name of a new series of work that continues to see pearls in new ways. The tectonic plates of Pangea? Perhaps.

These cultured pearls will challenge all of your preconceived notions of what a pearl should look like. They are not white. They are not round.

They are luscious and mesmerizing as the colors in the pearls naturally shift from violet to gold. The irregular surface plays with light and causes visual movement as well as the actual movement of the articulated baroque drop.

Ethiopian Opal Details

Subtle and understated, the Ethiopian opals give these pearl posts the unexpected push that take them to the next level. The color play is beautiful. The opal is slightly domed by an old fashioned rose cut revealing that the jelly is very colorful with flashes of green, orange and turquoise, providing the perfect complement to the pearls.

Everyday Earrings

Surprisingly, these earrings are actually a wonderful, "go to" everyday earring. We started with a simple round pearl and went from there. If length suits your face, the long cultured "leaves" are highly reflective, bouncing light on your face, which your skin loves. The orient, or in laymen terms, that rainbow "oil on the lake behind your outboard" is extraordinary with flashes of pink, violet, gold and green.

If you have considered asymmetrical earrings "too risky" in the past, these would be great training wheels as you dip your toe in the delicious waters of asymmetry. There. I think enough metaphors have been mixed for one day.

Special Offer

And remember, now through October 2013 when you purchase a pair of earrings from the re: Imagined series you will receive a voucher for a portrait sitting with photographer Steve Pelosi (valued at $300).
